For a visa to be issued， the applicant must pay the non-refundable amount of €60. This amount is not required from citizens of the United States or Israel and Japan. The application form for this type of visa consists of an online procedure (which will start after the online payment has been made)， as well as several documents that need to be sent by mail in order to complete it： A signed statement attesting that you have sufficient funds to cover your stay and health insurance；
The original passport with at least two blank pages remaining；
One copy each of all travel visas obtained while holding a foreign nationality (if applicable）， as well as any previous passports which are still valid；
Photocopy of all pages of both national ID cards / residence permits;
Two recent photographs taken within the last six months， of size 35 x 45 mm， on a white background， against a light colored background;
Proof of booking confirmation OR hotel reservation or letter of invitation， written on company letterhead；
A return flight ticket（with dates）；
Documentary proof showing your financial ability to support yourself during your studies such as bank statements， employment contracts／pay slips／tax returns， etc．；
Copy of the contract between your university and you if studying there；
Any other relevant documents depending on your individual situation（e.g.， marriage certificate）.
Once the application process is completed， the visa should take approximately four weeks to be ready for collection from the Spanish consulate office where the applicants are applying for their visa.
